When Kelley speaks of “we,” he is speaking of himself and his youngest child, Dominique, Jr., often called DJ. “He has been with me since his high school years and he expects to be with me until his gaming design career kicks off,” says Dominique.
Though DJ’s goal has been to become a game designer since he was a kid, he says he likes working with his dad while enrolled as an online Video Games & Music Engineering student with Florida’s Full Sail University. “I started going with my dad to his jobs when I was about nine and he was a disc jockey and I will continue working with him to maintain our landscaping business and to provide our customers quality services.”

Dominique Kelley, owner of Kelley’s Lawn and Tree Services, recalls being about seven or eight when he first started cutting grass for an aunt and uncle. “It was for weekend money,” he says.
Over the years his interests grew into general outdoor improvement activities such as cutting hedges and removing trees. “We want to make things look good; I like to do much more than just cut the grass and leave the property,” says Dominique, who studied Automotive Technology at Ivy Tech College in Gary, Indiana and Marine Trades Technology at the De La Garza Career Center in East Chicago, Indiana.
